Sentimental Sunday ~ Happy Easter ~

Easter ~ ca. 1957/58

Easter wishes to everyone!

The black and white photo above is of  Mom and I on Easter when we were living in Monterey, CA. For as far back as I can remember and just before I entered my teens . . . mom would make sure I had a complete new outfit each and every Easter!  So far, this is the only photo I have come across of us together and me in my Easter bonnet, new dress, and new shiny black shoes . . . usually they were white.

Powell Tabeling Dies At Tar Fork.
_______

   Tar Fork, March 30. -(Special.)-
Powell C. Tabeling died at his home
here March 24. He was thirty-nine
years of age. He is survived by two
sisters and five brothers.

A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.
God in his wisdom has recalled
The boon his love had given,
And though the body slumbers here,
The soul is safe in heaven.
                                 A Friend, E.H.
