Sentimental Sunday ~ Happy Mother's Day my Beautiful Mom ~

I love this photo of mom (1933-2010) and I . . . as I stare at it, I can see and feel the love and closeness that my mom and I shared. She was the most beautiful loving, caring, wise mom and I got to be her daughter . . . how I miss her. Happy Mother's Day Mom . . . I love you!

                     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And . . . very special Mother's Day wishes to my "other" mom's. These mom's love me and have been there for me no matter what, thank you . . . love and hugs to you all.
A Poem and a Message ~
My daughter Lacie sent this to me via Facebook while she was in class at school today. What a wonderful poem and even more wonderful that she sent it to me knowing what family history means to me...thank you Lacie...I love you too.
Lacie Ewing: Today in class my teacher said: memory is blood, you are not born with a clean slate but you carry all the memories of your ancestors...
...and then we read this poem:
~ Remember ~
Remember the sky that you were born under,
Know each of the stars stories
Remember the moon, know who she is.
Remember the suns birth at dawn, that she is the strongest point of time. Remember sun down and the giving away to night.
Remember your birth, how your mother struggled to give you form and breath. You are evidence of her life, and her mothers, and hers.
Remember your father. He is your life, also.
Remember the earth whose skin you are: red earth, black earth, yellow earth, white earth, brown earth, we are earth.
Remember the plants, trees, animal life who all have their tribes, their families, their histories too. Talk to them, listen to them. They are alive poems.
Remember the wind. Remember her voice. She knows the origin of the universe.
Remember you are all people and all people are you.
Remember you are this universe and this universe is you.
Remember all is in motion, is growing, is you.
Remember language comes from this.
Remember the dance language is, that life is.
Remember.
~ Author:  Joy Harjo
I thought you would like that. Love you :) Lacie
Wordless Wednesday ~ La Jolla Cove
The picture of the Cove in La Jolla was taken from a spot at McKeller Plaza.
Digital photo owned and held by Bob Ewing (address for private use,) Taken Sunday 08 Feb 2009
Permission to post photo given by Bob Ewing
Bob is my ex-brother in law, I am still very close to the family. Bob takes the most wonderful photos of San Diego, thank you Bob for sharing.
I am hoping that this photo brings a little sunshine to the areas that have very cold weather. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who are going thru devastating weather and tornado's.
