Losing Memories to Alzheimer's ~

1930 Apr 25 ~ 2016 Dec 02

“I’ve been thinking a lot about memory, how much it defines
us. How much of our character is built from it . . . our personalities, our
loyalties, our souls, their response to what came before. We’re the sum total
of the connections we’ve made, and the people we’ve lost. Memories are the
building blocks of our identity, without them, who we are would be lost to us.”

Sentimental Sunday ~ Celebrating Michael's Life ~

Michael J. Webb
1952 ~ 2015

On October the 24th, 2015, yesterday, we celebrated the life of my brother-in-law, Michael. The service was truly a celebration . . . many friends, fellow officers and family came together to honor him . . . I know Michael would be very happy with how it all turned out . . . there were so many that all of us haven't seen in years but it was like yesterday. There were tears, laughter and love through-out and I know that is what he would have wanted. His memory will be kept alive because he is in our hearts always. Rest in Peace dear, Micheal.

We Remember ~

~ In Remembrance of September 11, 2001 ~
Never to be forgotten . . . always in our hearts.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The special commemorative shield designed for San Diego County First Responders Firefighters, Police Officers, and Port of Authority, in the photo above, is being worn over my husbands heart on his Police uniform for the month of September, remembering each day what our country went through and those we lost and in memory of 9-11.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Commemorative 9-11 Badge
Many other agencies wanted to join in the 9-11 project but the time frame to manufacture the badges was quickly closing. That lead to the realization. Every police and fire agency across America should be afforded the same opportunity. Starting in 2012, we will be asking police and fire agencies across the United States to join in a national project. We want to provide our EMS brethren the same opportunity EMS personnel had in San Diego in 2011.

The national badge will be designed so it can be used year after year. Each year additional police and fire agencies will sign up for the 9-11 project. Our goal is to eventually have every police and fire/rescue agency in the United States wearing the same optional badge for the month of September.
We will never forget.
