Update on Mom~
She is doing good, she is weak and tires easily. She must go in every other day and have blood drawn so that they can monitor her. She has her blood drawn, it then goes to the lab and the lab tech calls her in the evening and lets her know if she increases or decreases her dosage. They are really keeping an eye on her and I am very grateful for that.
Today she saw her doctor and they will be scanning her upper body to see if there are any blood clots there. Her kidney seems to be working but will not be 100%. The clot had passed thru the kidney and damaged it. I am explaining this as how she shared it with me. Monday she sees the Vascular Surgeon, so we will see what he has to say.
All in all she seems to be in good hands and is being watch so closely that I am feeling much better. My Mom and I want to thank you all for your support and prayers, she said they are working because she is doing so much better...thank you.

Passing the 2009 "Friendly Bloggers Award"
It is hard to pick just 7, but there are so many wonderful and great Genealogy blogs and as Becky said, it's an honor to be a part of it. We learn so much from each other and the support is amazing. So without further delay (wasn't sure about how to spell 'a doo'!) I present this award to...

My "Friendly Blogger Award" ~ I am very thankful!
Two very good Genea-Friends, Becky at Grace and Glory and Harriet at Genealogy Fun , have award me with the "Friendly Blogger Award". I am smiling ear to ear and very grateful, Becky and Harriet, thank you so very much. This award came at a time I needed cheering up! Things have been a bit rough with Mom in the hospital. I feel honored and I feel that the Genea-blogger Family is so supportive, friendly and amazing and I get to be a part of it, it doesn't get any better than that. Thank you.
I know that I am to pick 7 Genea-blogs for this award, due to the recent events I am asking for a days extension and am calling it a night! We just got home and I logged on to check in and was so surprised.
Along with the drive to Mom's and back and working today and then getting a phone call that my stepdaughter was in labor, it's been a few overwhelming days! We have a new baby girl granddaughter with a full head of hair! She is very precious, this makes 6!! My stepdaughter had to have a C-section but both Mom and baby are great. We are exhausted and I promise after a good nights sleep and after work tomorrow I will pass the award on to 7 very deserving blogs and update you on how Mom is doing.
Thank you Becky and Harriet, you both are so sweet.

Update on Mom~
Saw Mom and she is doing well, better than yesterday . Unfortunately the blood clot is in an area that is very difficult to get to. They would literally have to fillet her. She would need to be cut from above her breasts down to her groin, then her kidneys and other major organs pulled back to get to the blood clot, the Dr. feels this surgery would be very difficult and very hard on her for her age and even after that, they don't know if she would be okay. They want to see if they can dissolve the clot first.
On top of that, she has one kidney that is shot and nothing that can be done about it. They have put her on blood thinners and a medication to try and dissolve the clot, it could take up to 4 months to see if this works. She has a very bad headache and is light headed. She has a fever so there is an infection brewing, until the source of the infection is located and treated she cannot go home. It's a wait and see issue now. She will be watched very closely and have MRI's and CAT scans frequently.
It was good to see her though and we got to spend most of the day together, it meant alot to me and I know it meant alot to her. It's very difficult to see your parents in pain or very ill. I framed and put a ribbon around the photo of us that I posted (previous post, 4 generations) for Mother's Day and gave that to her today for Mother's Day, she loved it and has it next to her bed. Not the greatest Mother's Day gift but then again we have each other and and our family and that's more of gift than anything else to me.
We were laughing because the doctor told her, you have to cut back on some of the foods you eat! I told her, "Mom, you need to cut out the steaks and potato balls and pork roasts etc, etc. She's really peeved and feels she shouldn't have to give that stuff up!!! She is already tired of the hospital food, they are giving her extremely bland food, no salt, no caffeine, and she is really upset on not getting her coffee (German mud!). At least we were all laughing about it, one of her friends brought in some pastries and some Dove chocolate, she had it hidden in one of the drawers...I took it away from her! When my husband and I went down to the cafeteria, she said did you bring me a cheese burger! She really doesn't eat that bad but she does like her beef and pork, that is all going to have to change!
So, that is an update on Mom. She wants to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts, I know they are working, and I want to thank you all for your supportive comments and prayers. Again, it makes a difference beyond words can explain.
Happy Mother's Day to all of you!

Happy Mother's Day ~ Four Generations!
Happy Mother's Day!
Here is four generations, from left to right, my daughter, myself, and my beautiful Mom, who is spending Mother's Day in the Hospital (see previous post) and my granddaughter in front. My Oma (Grandmother) is 96 and living in Germany, I wish her a Very Happy Mother's Day also.
I will be leaving early in the morning and driving up to be with my Mom at the Hospital. At least we will be together on Mother's Day. She was pretty out of it today and I felt it better that we leave early tomorrow than late today, we wouldn't have been able to do much and she has been sleeping alot. I was calling frequently to check on her condition, Mom is in good spirits, it takes alot to bring her down! She is a very positive lady and pretty stubborn too!
My Mom is in the Hospital
She is about an hour and a half away from me and I may be leaving soon to be with her. They are not sure if she has to have surgery or not. I may be absent for a bit from here but I will try and keep you posted.
I didn't want to let her know but I am very worried. I really hate this sick feeling I have, not that anything is going to happen to her but that she is having this go on and what if something does happen...she has been battling this heart problem for a few years now. It seems to be getting worse and she has alot of pain. She has 80% blockage on one side and almost 100% blockage on the other, they put a stint in the side that is 100% but the other side, the artery is too small to put a stint in. I have told her that she may have to have surgery but she is very stubborn and is holding out in hopes that it will be fine!!!
The other problem is that she only has her husband there, he doesn't speak english and he doesn't drive and he is driving back and forth to the hospital! He is from Poland and Mom usually takes care of everything. So I feel that I need to be there. I am thinking, this is not a good way for her to spend Mother's Day but I am telling myself she will be fine! She keeps telling me not to worry but Mom has always been one that she won't even call me until its all over with. I guess she has been in the Hospital since yesterday morning and just now called me! If she wasn't so ill, I would have said to her what she said to me when I was a kid and told her,"Get over here so I can smack you!" Of course she was always kidding (previous post on Bound for Mom carnival).
She is very out of it talking to me in German! I understand a little but not much! She said, "you don't have to call me every 5 mins.!" At first I thought she was just telling me in her own way not to worry but she kept saying it, I said, "MOM this is the first time I have called you since you called me and told me this morning!" She says, " I am not well!" So, she is not well.
I felt I needed to get this out so I can get myself together and think clearer! I don't think we are ever prepared for our parents to be ill. I cannot imagine my Mom not being well or something happening to her.
Keep you all posted as I can...
