Remembering my 1st cousin, 2x removed, she was born on this day, the 28th of January in 1900, in Breckinridge Co., Kentucky, one-hundred twelve years ago. 

Little did I know in April of 2008, when I took this photo, that Laura was one of my cousins. I had just started doing my family history in 2008. When I visited Saint Mary of the Woods cemetery, there were several Tabeling grave sites and I was making sure I snapped photos of all of their graves, not really knowing of our kinship. These photos have been tucked away on my computer since then.  Slowly, I am learning more and more of my Tabeling ancestors. Happy Birthday, Laura ~

In Memory of, Albert 'Fritz' Tabeling 1870 ~ 1919 ~

Remembering my great-grandfather, Albert 'Fritz' Tabeling,  he passed away on this day, the 27th day of January, ninety-three years ago.

Lillie Mae and Albert 'Fritz' Tabeling

Lillie Mae and Albert Tabeling, are my paternal great-grandparents. Lillie Mae died from a miscarriage, complicated by the flu, and Albert died along with several of thier children, from the 1919 Flu Epidemic in Cloverport, Kentucky.

El Camino Memorial Park

This beautiful area of the El Camino Memorial Park, is where my mom (1933~2010) and my Oma, Liselotte Haf née Kaiser-Saule's (1913~2010) final resting spot is located . . . tucked away, sitting up on a hill overlooking a large part of the cemetery.
