Just this last week Tuesday March 30th, I lost a very dear neighbor (two doors up) and friend and then on Monday, April 5th, 2010, I lost my maternal Oma (grandmother) in Germany. Life has been just a bit upside down. I am very involved with some of the arrangments for my neighbor...I am making the memorial cards and created a menu calendar so that each neighbor makes a meal on a different day. This way the family will have meals/dinners for the next two weeks. It worked out wondefully. I am also working on scanning and putting together a memorial post for my grandmother, the last two weeks have really been tough.
So, I wanted to take a moment to thank those who thought enough of me to give me this award not once but four five times...thank you so much...wonderful things like this always happen when you need it the most! I am so very grateful! Thank you Carol from Reflections From the Fence, Mary from Me and My Ancestors, Mavis from Georgia Black Crackers, and Astrid from Of Troll and Lemons and Mary from Mary's Musings. I feel I have forgotten someone...if so, I apologize (I do remember now!). Now, I am Ancestor Approved and love it, I am only sorry that it took me a bit to get my graditude out to all of you.
As a recipient of this award I am to list 10 things you have learned about my ancestors that have surprised, humbled or enlightened me, and then pass the award on to 10 other genealogy bloggers who I believe would make their ancestors proud.
I am at a loss for words at the moment but I do want to keep this award moving and send it to those who so deserve it...all of you do...it's always difficult to pin it down to a required number. In keeping with the awards tradition, here are my 10...
Missy at Bayside Blog
Elizabeth at Little Bytes of Life
Nick at Nick Gombash's Genealogy Blog
Robin at Where I Come From
Michelle at Girl of the Random Leaf
Tammy at Genealogy - It All Starts Somewhere
Vickie at BeNotForot
John at Transylvanian Dutch
Terri at The Ties That Bind
As I said, I really had a hard time just picking 10...many have already received this award so I wanted to share with those who have not as of yet. Thank you all...

Please accept my condolences on your losses. You are so right....these pats on the back from fellow bloggers arrived in your e-mail at the right time.
So sorry to hear of the loss of your grandmother and neighbor. And you so deserve the award - your blog is so inspiring.
My condolences, and thanks for choosing me and my site as one of your ten choices. I am honored.
