"To see the world in a grain of sand
and heaven in a wild flower.
Hold infinity in the palms of your hand
And eternity in an hour."
~ Auguries of Innocence
Thank you to Terri over at The Ties That Bind blog for a beautiful re-touch on the photo above of mom's hand in mine. This photo was taken at the hospital just before mom's passing. Terri kindly softened the background and added the perfect poem.

A beautiful tribute, Gini.
Absolutely beautiful.
For some reason I can't use the comment section, but I wanted to e-mail you the comment anyway:
2010 had to be a tough year for you. Thanks for sharing this poignant tribute.

Thank you so much Elizabeth, Michelle and Cathy for your kind words and stopping by.
Cathy, not sure why you were unable to leave a comment, I went ahead and put your email comment in so I can share your wonderful words.
Doing a bit of genealogy each day has been the one thing that has helped me get through the day.
Mom had brought back tons of photos when my Oma passed (I am very grateful) but most have no names or dates. Mom and I were going through each photo before she passed..all the names and dates went with her.
I have been on a photo organizing project for close to a month now. I have to say, it has brought out every emotion there is (mom had tons of photos of her life) but it's a wonderful feeling having my photos organized by person/family. I am almost ready for some scanfest days!
So beautiful . . . heartfelt . . . touching . . . images of hands . . . the connections of the generations . . . this one . . . especially poignant . . . brought tears to my eyes . . . {hugs}
How beautiful-memorable and loving of a tribute this is. Thanks for sharing it.
